Welcome! I'm so happy that you're here.

One of the best suggestions I've received so far is to put up a more complete statement of intent for this project. It's important that you know what I'm trying to accomplish here before you jump into the assignments. So, if you haven't done so already, please visit The Joy Immersion Project Explained.

Once you've done that, come back here and get started. Click on the first link in the list below that you have not yet completed. When you've completed the given assignment, come back to this page and click the next link. I suggest you give each assignment at least a day's effort before moving on to the next. More time is fine as long as you are working on your assignments every day. Also, these assignments are meant to be compounded. In other words, once you're ready to do Exercise Two, you should continue doing Exercise One. And so forth.

So, without further ado ...

The Joy Immersion Project

One final note: There's a good possibility that one or more of the assignments here will bring about in you a feeling of resistance. The feeling may manifest itself with an actual aversion to the idea, or it could be more subtle than that. For instance, a person experiencing resistance might think, "I really want to do this, but I don't have time." Or "This one is silly. I don't need to do it." Or "I'm not in the mood. I'll do it tomorrow." How ever resistance presents itself, it's very important that you recognize it for what it is.

It is a Gift.

When you face your fears, weaknesses, insecurities, and negativities, you have the unique opportunity to watch them shrink before your very eyes. (In fact, that's the only way I know of to get rid of them.) Fear, insecurity, disconnection, self-righteousness – all of these things will show themselves to you as the true cowards they are when you look them in the eye and refuse to be intimidated by them.

It might also help you to know that you are not alone in this. We all experience resistance once in a while. But if we want to grow, we must face our resistance and walk through it.

One more thing. Considering, contemplating, meditating upon or debating these assignments will not get you even one step closer to your goals. You must do the assignments. Do them. Most of them are fun anyway!

Most importantly, you deserve this!

Addendum (added December 2016)

Please note that 99% of the contents of these pages were written at least ten years ago. My views on some things have changed since then, and I've learned more. Also, some of the references I made are now outdated. I tried to catch bad links and so forth, but I may very well have missed some things. Please forgive and do your best to look past these issues.
